Last updated: 14 March 2026
1. Commitment to accessibility
Italfrance S.r.l. is committed to making its website accessible to as many users as possible, regardless of their physical, sensory or cognitive abilities, in compliance with current digital accessibility regulations.
This website is designed and developed with the aim of complying with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at conformance level AA, as recommended by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
2. Regulatory references
This statement is drafted in compliance with:
- Law No. 4 of 9 January 2004 (known as the "Stanca Law") — "Provisions to facilitate and simplify access by users and, in particular, by persons with disabilities to IT tools", as amended by Decree-Law 76/2020 converted by Law 120/2020, which extended accessibility obligations to private entities with an average turnover exceeding 500 million euros over the last three years.
- Directive (EU) 2016/2102 — on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies.
- European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882) — on the accessibility requirements for products and services, transposed into Italian law by Legislative Decree 82/2022.
- WCAG 2.1 — Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, conformance level AA.
3. Accessibility measures adopted
To ensure the accessibility of the website, the following technical and organisational measures have been adopted:
3.1 Navigation and structure
- "Skip to content" link to allow keyboard users to jump directly to the main content.
- Correct and logical heading hierarchy, with a single H1 element per page.
- Logical tab order consistent with the visual flow of content.
- Fully keyboard-accessible navigation.
3.2 Visual appearance
- Sufficient colour contrast between text and background: minimum ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text, in compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA.
- Support for light and dark mode, respecting contrast requirements in both modes.
- Base font size of 16px, with the ability to enlarge up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
- Visible focus indicator on all interactive elements (links, buttons, input fields).
3.3 Content and media
- Text descriptions on all informative images, to enable reading by assistive software (screen readers) used by visually impaired users. Purely decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- All buttons and interactive elements without visible text have a descriptive label readable by assistive software.
- Each contact form field is associated with its own descriptive label, to clarify the meaning of the field for users of assistive software.
3.4 Interactivity and mobile
- Touch targets of at least 44x44 pixels on mobile devices.
- Responsive design that adapts to different screen sizes and orientations.
- Fully usable without a mouse, using keyboard only.
4. Technologies used
The website was developed with attention to accessibility, using modern and established technologies:
- Semantic HTML structure — the page is organised with clearly identified elements (header, navigation, main content, footer) to facilitate reading by assistive software and search engines.
- Modern web framework (Next.js) — ensures fast loading times and a clear, well-organised page structure.
- Consistent styling system — ensures correct colour contrasts and a uniform appearance across all sections of the website.
- Accessible components — all dropdown menus, dialogs and interactive elements comply with international accessibility standards (WAI-ARIA).
- Respectful animations — the website's animations are automatically disabled if the user has set the preference to reduce motion on their device.
5. Conformance status
This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content do not yet fully conform to the accessibility standard.
Italfrance S.r.l. is committed to continuously monitoring and improving the accessibility of the website, with the goal of achieving full conformance.
6. Non-accessible content
At present, the following content may not be fully accessible:
- Any third-party content integrated into the website (e.g. maps, external widgets) that is not under the direct control of Italfrance S.r.l.
- PDF documents that may be published, which might not fully comply with accessibility requirements.
